The shape of the monthly round up, written from the sample tables in this preview: how many doses moved, which way the index went and what the automatic threads recorded. The figures are sample data, not market facts.

This is the first monthly round up, and it comes with a caveat that sits above everything else in it: the price tables in this preview run on sample data. The sample is deterministic, labelled as sample wherever it appears and kept inside a realistic range, and it describes no pharmacy's real price. Every statement below describes the sample. Once live data replaces it, this round up will be written each month from the collector's history, in this shape, with real figures and named providers.

How the round up is built

Three records feed it: the Dose Club Price Index rows for the month, the price history behind each provider page and the automatic threads in the Prices and stock room. The round up counts and describes. It carries no price figures, because those belong on the prices, provider and Price Index pages, and it ranks no medicine against another.

The index for September

The Dose Club Price Index for September was published for all six Wegovy doses and all six Mounjaro doses. The 7.2mg Wegovy dose crossed the publication threshold of three providers in July and was listed by five in September, having been listed by one in April. The other Wegovy doses were listed by 13 or 14 providers and the Mounjaro doses by 12 to 14.

Against August, eight of the twelve averages fell, by between 2 and 3 percent, and four rose by less than 1 percent. Against April, the first month in the sample, every average is between 3.5 and 3.7 percent lower. The gap between the lowest and the highest listed price for a dose in September was between 45 and 50 percent of that dose's average, a wide spread for the same strength of the same medicine.

Moves in the last week of the month

Five cells moved in the final week of the sample: three Mounjaro doses and two Wegovy doses, three of them up and two down. Each verified change opened a thread in the Prices and stock room, titled with the provider, the medicine, the dose and the move, with the figure itself on the provider page. In the live version of this round up those threads are the record of the month, and this section will link to each one.

Held moves and open reports

Three collector readings sat in the held queue at the time of writing, each a move of about a quarter against the live figure for its cell, waiting for a person to compare the screenshot with the provider page. The table kept the previous confirmed figure for all three. The member report queue held five open reports, three about a price and two about stock, all inside the 24 hour answer target. In the live version this section will say how many held moves were confirmed, how many were collector errors and how many reports were verified.

Cells shown as checking

Three cells showed "checking" in place of a figure, because their last confirmed check was more than 24 hours old: two Mounjaro doses and one Wegovy dose, at three different providers. A "checking" cell is deliberate. A figure that has not been confirmed in a day might be wrong, so the table shows none until a check confirms it.

Doses not listed

Not every provider lists every dose. In the sample one provider lists Mounjaro only, one lists every Wegovy dose except the 7.2mg and one lists every Mounjaro dose except the 15mg. A dash in the table means the provider does not list that dose. Stock positions are reported separately, through the Report out of stock button, and appear as threads.

What to read next month

  • The Price Index page, updated once the month closes, for the averages by medicine and dose.
  • The provider pages, for the 90 day history behind any move.
  • The Prices and stock room, for the thread on each verified change.

Prices change at any time. Confirm the current price and availability on the provider's website before ordering. The Dose Club does not sell or prescribe medicines and receives no payment from listed providers.
